Kazuri

means little and beautiful in Swahili. It began in 1975 in a tiny workshop experimenting on making hand made beads. Kazuri's mission is to provide and sustain employment opportunities to disadvantaged members of Kenyan society. Most of the workers are single mothers. At the moment they are about 340.

I was very surprised that we did not only see the factory shop but also the whole production line with a guide. I still wonder how they have managed the make the company so big and international.
The clay comes from Mount Kenya.

They also make pottery.
