in the Institute is the person who mostly after the manager has had contacts with the Finns. The Institute is still mainly upheld by the Foreign Ministry of Finland.Mr. Rufus Maina, the accountant, says: "We are very greatful for the support and contribution of the Finns. They have given us a possibility to grow good infrastructure to the Institute. I asked if there has been some money problems between the Finns and Kenyans. Mr. Rufus said that the Kenyan accounting system is different from the Finnish one. They look at cash accounting, what has actually been spent. Kenyan menthod is accrual method, the income of the period must be matched with the expences of the same pariod." He said that to problem has not been resolved.
Besides accounting Mr. Rufus gives lectures to students in accounting 14 hour a week . Work day in schools in Kenya is normally from eight in the morning until five in the afternoon. Mr. Rufus likes his work very much. Maybe he has a little bit too much lectures but he enjoys doing accounts in the mornings and teaching in the afternoons. He has a career desire to progress in his work and also for the future to do masters degree.
