Visitors from Hand in Hand

A group of 12 students and two teachers from King Edward VI Grammar School (KEGS), Essex, U.K, and development manager Susan Smith from a British development agency Hand in Hand visited Nakuru Counceling and Training Institute today.

In equal partnership with organizations overseas Hand in Hand works to give assistance; allowing poor and marginalized people and communities the opportunity to make their own choices.

In Kenya Hand in Hand is supporting New Hope Children's Center in Limuru, Mogonet primary and secondary school in Kiricho and Daylove Children's Center in Nairobi. Hand in Hand wants to support poor students also by giving them possibilities for further education in vocational schools or even universities. They have found Nakuru Counceling and Training Institute a confident vocational school, where they can send students.

Even though the visit was not long it was good to see how quickly young people got friends together.

The British students came from Limuru and continued their visit to Kericho, where they stay until the 25th of July. They live in a hotel but travel every day to Mogonet schools where they do some teaching in the classes, do painting with local students, visit the communities etc.
